Highlights From The 2022 GP Bullhound Northern Tech Awards
This year’s GP Bullhound Northern Tech Awards did not disappoint, living up to their reputation as one of the major events on the North’s tech calendar. A huge congratulations to category nominees Sparkbox and Orka, the latter of which placed 8th in the top 50 of GP Bullhound’s annual rankings, with Peak and Sorted also retaining their place on the list. Congratulations also to The Modern Milkman – another great Manchester business – which scooped the fastest growing award and overall judges’ prize on the night.
Praetura Ventures And Culture Shift Visit Parliament
Our Director of Investments Mark Lyons recently joined Culture Shift’s CEO/co-founder Gemma McCall for a visit to Westminster for the British Venture Capital Association’s 2022 Parliamentary Reception. The event was hosted by Treasury Select Committee member Gareth Davies MP, with speeches from George Freeman MP (the Minister for Science, Research and Innovation), Chi Onwurah MP (the Shadow Minister for Science, Research and Innovation) and the BVCA’s Director General Michael Moore.
Maxwellia’s Lovima Hits Screens For Love Island Viewers
Lovima hit screens again recently with its TV ad, which has been aired during Love Island on ITV’s on-demand service ITV Hub. The over-the-counter contraceptive pill, launched by our portfolio company Maxwellia, has also been raising awareness on Instagram, with a major competition to coincide with season 8 of the TV show.
Transreport’s Founder Jay Shen Interviewed By TechRound
The UK start-up publication TechRound recently interviewed Transreport’s founder Jay Shen, who discussed the company’s plans following the success of the Passenger Assistance app. During the interview, Jay also teased plans for a web app version of Passenger Assistance for passengers who prefer to use desktop when booking accessibility help at stations.
